Credit Analyst - Vancouver, WA
PWB Pacific West Bank (PWB) is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and service‑focused Credit Analyst to support our commercial lending team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys digging into financial data, and is committed to delivering exceptional service to both internal partners and customers.
About the Role
The Credit Analyst works closely with loan officers to support the management of customer relationships and loan portfolios. This includes analyzing financial information, preparing written credit analyses, monitoring credit quality, and assisting in the preparation and presentation of credit requests. The role may also involve co‑managing select client relationships alongside a loan officer.
This position plays a key part in ensuring the Bank’s credit decisions are sound, compliant, and aligned with PWB’s commitment to integrity, professionalism, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Underwriting
Review commercial and real estate credit requests and prepare financial analyses in accordance with Bank policies.
Collaborate with loan officers to structure credit terms, including repayment schedules, collateral requirements, and documentation needs.
Monitor existing loans, assess ongoing creditworthiness, and ensure compliance with loan terms.
Take appropriate action on past-due accounts following Bank policy.
Stay informed on economic and financial trends affecting the lending environment.
Support Credit Administration and loan officers in monitoring customer accounts and portfolio performance.
Conduct annual term loan reviews.
Provide backup support for loan officers as needed and act as a liaison with other departments.
Loan Servicing Support
Assist with account servicing, including reviewing account changes, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving concerns.
Ensure accurate loan documentation and assist with required loan reporting.
Compliance
Maintain knowledge of federal and state lending regulations.
Perform duties in accordance with compliance policies and complete required training.
Assist in developing and implementing policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
Community Engagement
Participate in civic and community activities that support PWB’s mission and presence in the community.
Teamwork & Communication
Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, management, customers, and external partners.
Keep management informed of customer issues, potential opportunities, and workflow challenges.
Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration, initiative, and proactive problem-solving.
Qualifications
College-level education in business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
2–3 years of underwriting experience preferred.
Working knowledge of real estate lending regulations, loan documentation, title insurance, and loan servicing procedures.
Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to work effectively with loan officers, support staff, and customers, including in challenging situations.
Regular attendance and ability to meet bonding requirements.
Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based in a climate-controlled environment.
Approximately 80% of time spent seated; 20% moving throughout the office.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and by phone.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and access low cabinets or shelves.
Frequent computer use and handling of documents and office equipment.
Occasional overtime may be required.
